Tenevo Hybrid Park is officially open
Eldrive is part of the Renalfa energy ecosystem. On 30 September 2026, Renalfa IPP and Eurowind Energy officially opened the Tenevo hybrid renewable energy complex in Tundzha Municipality, Yambol Province, in Bulgaria, one of the three markets where Eldrive operates public EV charging. Solar and battery storage share one grid connection, so clean energy can be stored and delivered when the grid needs it.

One group, from clean generation to the charging point
Eldrive is part of the Renalfa energy ecosystem. Tenevo was built within the same group, and it shows what stands behind electric mobility in South-Eastern Europe: renewable generation, storage at scale, energy trading and the charging network that drivers use every day.
Renalfa IPP develops and operates solar, wind and storage. Tenevo adds 242 MWp of solar and 772.5 MWh of battery storage in Bulgaria.
Toki Power is the group's clean energy trading and aggregation business, including balancing for its clients.
Solarpro designs and builds the infrastructure. At Tenevo it was the EPC contractor and project manager.
Eldrive builds and operates public EV charging in Romania, Bulgaria and Lithuania, with more than 3,500 charging points across the three markets.
Why a solar and storage park matters to EV charging
An electric car is only as clean as the electricity that charges it. Solar on its own produces in the middle of the day; paired with large-scale storage, the same clean energy can reach the grid in the evening and at night too. Tenevo shows that model at scale, in Bulgaria, one of the three markets where Eldrive operates.
Storage is also part of Eldrive's own roadmap: battery systems at charging hubs let high-power charging grow faster than grid connections alone would allow. The experience built across the group at sites like Tenevo is part of what Eldrive can draw on.
Joining forces with Renalfa, Toki, and Solarpro creates a rich energy ecosystem with expertise in innovation, renewable energy, infrastructure, and mobility.

One grid connection, solar and storage together
Tenevo is a hybrid complex: generation and storage share the same site and the same connection to the grid.
The solar plant produces when the sun shines. The batteries next to it store part of that energy and release it later, when solar output has dropped and the grid still needs power. Combining both behind one connection gets more out of grid capacity that already exists, and turns a weather-dependent source into one that can be dispatched when the system needs it.
Tenevo complex is the first showcase in Europe of dispatchable renewable asset of that scale.
The storage was built in phases. The first battery system, 65 MW / 260 MWh, came online in 2025; with the later phases the site reached 311 MW / 772.5 MWh. A wind phase of more than 250 MW is planned next, which would make Tenevo a solar, wind and storage complex on one connection.

Built and financed in the region
Solarpro Holding was the EPC contractor and project manager. The solar plant is financed with €50 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and €53 million from Raiffeisen Bank International, and Tenevo is among the first projects in Bulgaria to use a guarantee under the EU's InvestEU programme. A further €60 million for the second battery phase is set to be signed.
A coal region in transition
The site lies next to a coal region that is going through its own transition. The owners present Tenevo as part of Bulgaria's just transition: new energy infrastructure and new investment in the part of the country that has long depended on coal.

The opening
Partners, financiers and local authorities came to Tenevo for the official opening and the ribbon cutting.
Guests included Stancho Stavrev, Mayor of Tundzha; Georgi Chalakov, Regional Governor of Yambol; Jens Rasmussen, Founder and CEO of Eurowind Energy; Mark Bowman, Vice President, Policy and Partnerships at the EBRD; Mathilde Ketoff, Board member of Renalfa IPP and Partner at RGREEN INVEST; and Krasen Mateev, CEO of Solarpro Holding, together with representatives of the EBRD, Raiffeisen Bank International, the industry and local communities.
Together, we have created one of the largest hybrid energy projects in Europe.
