Denis, our Head of Business Development, started his trip well prepared — both in terms of planning and battery charge. A day before departure, he fully charged his car at the Eldrive station in Cosmoville Balotești, where the network offers two options: a 150 kW station and a 50 kW station.

The next day, 9 PM. Bucharest was still bustling with the rhythm of an ordinary summer day, but for Denis, our colleague, the adventure was just beginning. With his playlist ready, luggage strategically placed in the trunk, and the battery partially charged, Denis set off on an 820 km journey toward the Greek sun. The destination: Pallini, Halkidiki. The theme? Sustainable and stylish exploration — 100% electric.

Before leaving the country, Denis made a last strategic stop at Supeco Giurgiu for a coffee and an energy boost — for both himself and the Ford Explorer EV. There, our network again offers two stations: 150 kW and 50 kW, enough for a quick boost before crossing the border.

These stops were no coincidence — they tested how well Eldrive’s locations are designed for long trips, especially during vacation season.

⛽ Charged with patience. And energy.

The one-hour wait at the Friendship Bridge, the natural and symbolic border between Romania and Bulgaria, was a welcome pause for a coffee and a scroll through saved destinations on Google Maps. The journey continued calmly but efficiently — cruising at speeds up to 130 km/h and an average consumption of 18 kWh/100 km.

🔋 Charging stops on the Eldrive network:

  • Eldrive Hyatt (0:20h): 1 station of 400 kW (3 x CCS) and 1 station 22 kW AC Type 2. First charge: from 30% to 80%. Enough to secure a new stretch of road — a quick energy boost to continue stress-free.
  • Eldrive Shell Studena (0:20h): 1 station of 200 kW (2 x CCS) and 1 station 22 kW AC Type 2. Another burst of energy — from 40% to 90%. Fast-charge and fast forward to relaxation.
  • Eldrive Kulata (1h): 1 station of 200 kW (2 x CCS). The last important stop: from 40% to 100%. Full charge before entering Greece. A longer, but more peaceful break. Here, Denis caught the sunrise — a preview of the vacation ahead — before crossing the border into Greece.

🚗 Ford Explorer EV — Denis’s road partner
On his journey to Greece, Denis drove the Ford Explorer EV, a modern and spacious SUV, perfect for long trips. With a battery of approximately 77 kWh, a range of up to 600 km, and fast charging (10-80% in 25 minutes), the Explorer proved to be an ideal companion. Quiet, stable, and comfortable, the electric SUV made the 820 km to Halkidiki feel much shorter.

📊 The numbers behind the adventure:

  • Total distance: 820 km
  • Total duration: 13 hours
  • Total energy charged: approx. 180 kWh
  • Total cost: 450 RON
  • CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km — because #Sustainability

☀️ Finish line: Greece
At 10 AM, Denis arrived in Pallini, Halkidiki. He took rest breaks while charging the car, with both the vehicle’s battery and his excitement for the upcoming vacation fully charged.

Denis’s experience is a reminder that vacations can begin on the road — especially when you choose to travel electric, efficiently, and worry-free.

#ReadyForVacation and with full batteries, Denis’s trip showed that the future of mobility is not just electric — it’s also relaxed, well-planned, and most importantly, memorable.

Stay tuned for details about the return journey — chosen stations, charging times, and how the Ford Explorer performed on the way back home.
