The Amberton Klaipėda hotel in Klaipėda city centre, home to a new Eldrive fast charger

Electric car drivers can now fast-charge right in the centre of Klaipėda. A 50 kW Eldrive fast-charging (DC) station with two CCS2 connectors is now operating at the Amberton Klaipėda hotel, Naujojo Sodo g. 1A. Eldrive now has 18 charging locations in Klaipėda, seven of which offer fast charging.

The new station is located in one of the busiest parts of the city – by the Danė river, close to the Old Town and the Curonian Lagoon waterfront. It is open to everyone: hotel guests, local residents and drivers visiting the port city.

At 50 kW, about an hour is enough to charge a significant share of the battery – roughly the time of a lunch, a meeting or a walk around the Old Town. How much charge a car takes in that time depends on its model and battery condition.

“People don't come to the centre of Klaipėda to charge their car. They come to meet, have lunch, walk around or stay at a hotel. That's exactly why we installed a station here, so the car can charge while people get on with their plans. Klaipėda welcomes many visitors from other cities and from abroad, and being able to charge conveniently right in the centre matters a lot to them,” says Tomas Tamašauskas, Head of Eldrive Lithuania.

What Eldrive offers in Klaipėda

Eldrive currently operates 18 charging locations in Klaipėda. Seven of them offer fast (DC) charging, the rest standard (AC) charging.

The most powerful Eldrive location in the city is at Rimi Vingis (Vingio g. 31), with charging power of up to 150 kW. In addition to the new location at the Amberton Klaipėda hotel, 50 kW fast charging is available at Jūrininkų pr. 16, S. Nėries g. 16B and Taikos pr. 80. Fast chargers also operate at Klaipėdos Holivudas on Kretingos street and at SMK University of Applied Sciences.

Standard (AC) chargers are installed across the city – on Pilies and H. Manto streets, Taikos avenue and Liepojos street, at KOOC clinic and in Melnragė, close to the sea.

“We want charging in Klaipėda to be easy wherever you are heading – to work, to the shop or to the beach. That's why we install chargers across the city: at shopping centres, offices, educational institutions, and now right in the centre,” says Tamašauskas.

On the way to the coast

Eldrive also has fast-charging locations near Klaipėda. In Karklė, at Karklė Camp, charging power reaches up to 200 kW. The same power is available at Rimi stores in Gargždai and Palanga (Klaipėdos pl. 59A). In Palanga, a fast charger of up to 150 kW operates at Maxima (Klaipėdos pl. 42).

Drivers on the A1 motorway can stop at the Eldrive and Porsche charging hub in Rietavas, which offers up to 400 kW and is open around the clock.

“The number of electric cars is growing across Lithuania, and the coast is no exception. Thousands of holidaymakers come here in summer, and business visitors all year round. When drivers know they will find fast and convenient charging both on the way and in Klaipėda itself, travelling to the sea by electric car becomes much easier,” says Tamašauskas.

Lithuania's EV fleet grew by more than half in a year

According to the Lithuanian Electric Vehicle Association (ENA), 57,158 electric passenger cars were registered in Lithuania on 1 August 2026. Of these, 29,035 were battery electric vehicles (BEV) and 28,123 were plug-in hybrids (PHEV). The fleet grew by 56.4% over the year.

Electric cars are also gaining share among new cars. According to ENA, electric cars accounted for 20.4% of all new passenger cars acquired in January–July 2026.

How to charge

Charging at the Amberton Klaipėda hotel and at other Eldrive locations can be started with the Eldrive app or an RFID card. The app shows whether connectors are free and the current price, and lets you pay for charging.

Addresses and connector details for all Eldrive charging locations in Klaipėda are available on the Eldrive website.

The Eldrive network keeps growing across Lithuania

Eldrive currently has around 190 EV charging locations in Lithuania, including four highway charging hubs. The company operates in three markets – Lithuania, Romania and Bulgaria. The Eldrive network has more than 3,500 charging points in total.
