Eldrive is a partner of EUROCHARGE 2026, an extensive electric vehicle test drive focused on how EVs perform in real-world conditions. Now in its third edition, EUROCHARGE brings together eight electric models for an 11-day journey covering more than 4,500 kilometres across Europe.
Unlike tests conducted in controlled environments, EUROCHARGE focuses on conditions that closely reflect everyday driving. Throughout the journey, data is continuously collected on energy consumption, real-world range and charging times, providing a practical perspective on the electric driving experience beyond laboratory figures.
This year’s edition started in Romania, with the first stage taking the cars across the Transalpina, one of the country’s most spectacular mountain roads. The journey continued through other parts of Romania, with the participating teams using Eldrive charging stations in Pitești, Sebeș and Oradea.
For Eldrive, supporting EUROCHARGE 2026 is an opportunity to contribute to an initiative that puts the real EV driving experience in focus. As the number of electric models and the distances travelled with them continue to grow, charging infrastructure becomes an important part of a seamless journey. Initiatives such as EUROCHARGE provide valuable insight into how electric vehicles and charging infrastructure work together under real-world conditions.
The eight participating models — Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, BYD Sealion 7, Mazda CX-6e, Mercedes-Benz GLC electric, Porsche Cayenne Electric, Renault 5, Volkswagen ID. Polo and Volvo ES90 — will continue their journey across Europe, travelling through Austria, Germany and other regions along the route. Road conditions, temperatures and driving styles will change throughout the journey, while the data collected will allow the vehicles to be compared based on real-world experiences and measurements gathered under consistent testing conditions.
EUROCHARGE 2026 runs until 25 September, with the results and data collected throughout the journey offering further insight into how different electric models perform on long-distance journeys.
