This weekend, Reșița became the capital of electromobility in Romania, hosting one of the most spectacular competitions dedicated exclusively to electric vehicles – the Transylvania eClassic Grand Prix – Banatul Montan.
We’re proud that Eldrive Romania was represented at this event by our colleague George from the digitalization team, together with his partner Ștefania. The two joined the race behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer EV, once again proving the impressive performance and range of modern electric vehicles. 🚙⚡
🔋 Charging stops within the Eldrive network
George made his first charging stop at our Eldrive location in Pitești, then continued the trip with a charging session in Drobeta. On the return journey, he stopped again in Drobeta and later in Craiova.

🚗 Ford Explorer EV – the perfect travel companion for Team Eldrive
The Ford Explorer EV once again proved itself to be a modern and spacious SUV, ideal for long-distance journeys. With a battery capacity of around 77 kWh, a range of up to 600 km, and fast-charging capability (10–80% in 25 minutes), the Explorer was a reliable and comfortable companion throughout the event.
The competition brought together teams from across Romania – from Sibiu and Brașov to Constanța, Iași, and Timișoara – all united by the same passion: sustainable mobility and a greener future for transport.
Participants explored the natural beauty of the Banatul Montan region – from the spectacular Semenic Mountains to the picturesque lakes and villages of Gărâna, Văliug, and Brebu Nou. Reșița also impressed with its 100% electric public transport system, a best-practice example for the entire European community.
The event featured both male and female teams, highlighting that electromobility is for everyone – regardless of age, gender, or experience. Among the vehicles taking part were models from Tesla, Renault, Škoda, Hyundai, Ford, and BYD, while visitors admired the all-new Renault 5 e-Tech, recently named “Car of the Year 2025”, and the powerful Tesla Model X Plaid boasting 1,020 horsepower.
The evening concluded with a spectacular Tesla Light & Music Show, a mesmerizing blend of technology, art, and electric energy.
