Eldrive participated in HUAWEI CONNECT 2026, Huawei’s European event held in Florence on 15–16 October. During the European EV Charging Network Forum, Stefan Spassov, CEO of Eldrive, shared insights into developing and operating an electric vehicle charging network and the role of technology partnerships in supporting infrastructure expansion.
The presentation covered lessons learned over ten years of developing the Eldrive network, from site selection and equipment reliability to the customer experience. These principles guide decisions on network expansion and the selection of technologies capable of meeting the growing demand for electric vehicle charging.
The partnership with Huawei Digital Power was another key topic of discussion. The two companies aim to develop 200 MW of charging capacity through the deployment of Huawei technology across the Eldrive network. In Romania, plans include approximately 47 locations equipped with Huawei technology by the end of 2027.
As the infrastructure expands, energy management is becoming increasingly important. In this context, Eldrive is also exploring energy storage and energy flexibility projects that could support increased charging capacity and more efficient use of available resources.
Participation in HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 provided an opportunity to share Eldrive’s operational experience and discuss the future development of charging infrastructure. For Eldrive Romania, reliability, accessibility and efficient energy use remain essential principles in building a network that meets the needs of drivers and businesses.
