Eldrive is introducing a new Route Planner in its mobile application, making it easier for electric vehicle drivers to plan longer journeys, identify suitable charging stops and travel with greater confidence.

The new feature will be available from 16 July 2026 to Eldrive users in Lithuania, Romania and Bulgaria.

Designed specifically for electric mobility, the Route Planner helps drivers prepare their journeys based on their vehicle, battery level and destination. Instead of planning the route and charging stops separately, users can now complete the entire process directly through the Eldrive app.

Plan an EV journey in just a few steps

To create a route, users can:

  • Select their electric vehicle model.
  • Enter the starting point and destination.
  • Choose the battery level at the beginning of the journey.
  • Set the desired battery level upon arrival.
  • Receive a recommended route with suggested Eldrive charging stops.
  • View the estimated charging time at each stop.
  • Open the prepared route directly in Google Maps.

The Route Planner uses vehicle-related information, including battery capacity and typical energy consumption, to calculate a recommended journey. Based on these details, the tool estimates when charging may be needed and suggests suitable stops along the route.

This allows drivers to understand the journey before departure, including the expected number of charging stops and the approximate time needed for charging.

A smoother experience for EV drivers

The new Route Planner is part of Eldrive’s continued investment in improving the overall electric mobility experience.

As the number of electric vehicles and charging locations continues to grow, drivers expect more than access to charging infrastructure. They also need simple digital tools that help them make better decisions before and during their journeys.

By combining vehicle information, route planning and Eldrive charging locations in one place, the new feature helps reduce uncertainty and makes longer EV journeys easier to organise.

Whether travelling between Vilnius and Klaipėda, Bucharest and Constanța, Sofia and Varna, or planning a cross-border journey, users can receive route recommendations adapted to their selected vehicle and battery preferences.

Available in all three Eldrive markets

The Route Planner will be available through the Eldrive mobile app in:

  • Lithuania
  • Romania
  • Bulgaria

Users should ensure that they have the latest version of the Eldrive app installed to access the new feature.

Important information

The Route Planner provides estimated routes, charging stops, journey times and charging durations based on available vehicle data and external routing services.

Actual results may vary depending on driving speed, weather conditions, traffic, vehicle load, energy consumption, charger availability and other factors. The Route Planner should therefore be used as a journey planning recommendation rather than a guaranteed travel plan.

With the launch of the new Route Planner, Eldrive is making electric mobility simpler, more convenient and better connected across its growing European charging network.
