Almost 80% more energy charged at the Raseiniai and Rietavas Eldrive Porsche Charging Hubs over the Sea Festival weekend than at the start of summer
On 24–26 July, during the Sea Festival in Klaipėda, the amount of energy charged at the Eldrive Porsche Charging Hubs in Raseiniai and Rietavas was almost 80% higher than on the first weekend of summer, 5–7 June. Over the same period, the number of charging sessions grew by almost 60% and the number of unique users by more than 62%.
The largest growth was recorded on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the amount of energy charged at the two charging hubs was around 125% higher than on the first Friday of summer, and on Saturday growth reached around 118%. On Sunday, the amount of energy charged increased by almost 40%.
“These results clearly show how EV charging activity changes as summer gets into full swing. Over the Sea Festival weekend, we recorded not only significantly more charging sessions but also more unique drivers. This shows that electric cars are increasingly chosen for weekend getaways, holidays and longer trips around Lithuania,” says Tomas Tamašauskas, Head of Eldrive Lithuania.
Activity grew at both charging hubs operating on the A1 highway. At the Raseiniai Eldrive Porsche Charging Hub, compared with the first weekend of summer, the amount of energy charged increased by almost 96%, the number of charging sessions by around 69%, and the number of unique users by almost 68%.
At the Rietavas Eldrive Porsche Charging Hub, the amount of energy increased by around 56%, the number of charging sessions by almost 45%, and the number of unique users by more than 53%.
It was not only the total number of charging sessions that grew. The average amount of energy charged per session at both hubs was around 12% higher than on the first weekend of summer. This shows that the charging hubs were not only used more often – drivers also charged more energy on average during a single stop.
“On longer journeys, it is important for drivers not only to find a charging location but also to be sure that they will not have to wait long there. Larger charging hubs on the country’s main roads can serve more cars at the same time, so as travel volumes grow, such locations are becoming increasingly important,” says T. Tamašauskas.
The Raseiniai and Rietavas Eldrive Porsche Charging Hubs operate on the A1 highway connecting Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda. Each hub has 10 fast charging stations (8 of 200 kW and 2 of 400 kW), so up to 20 electric vehicles can charge at the same time.
The growing activity at the Raseiniai and Rietavas Eldrive Porsche Charging Hubs coincides with the rapid increase in the number of plug-in vehicles in Lithuania. At the beginning of July 2026, almost 56,000 M1 and N1 category plug-in vehicles were registered in the country. More than 29,000 of them were battery electric vehicles, and the rest were plug-in hybrids.
Over the year, the total number of M1 and N1 category plug-in vehicles in Lithuania grew by more than 57%. In June alone, 77% more electric passenger cars were registered than in the same month last year. Their growing number is also reflected in the use of public charging infrastructure – in June, 91% more electricity was consumed at public charging stations than a year earlier.
